There was an interview up on a website for about a week after the game came out, it was apparently an interview with an EA employee. Interview said that Bioware were planning on having Gayrus in-game but EA put their foot down because Garrus was too popular to risk on a s/s romance. Yay for pandering to the homophobes on BSN!

From my understanding, it’s not achievable on console without multiplayer. Getting up to 5000 EMS is supposedly incredibly difficult if relying entirely on the single player.

Some of us have no choice but to rely on single player, you can thank EA’s shitty non-working Origin service for that

in all seriousness, wiki says female elcor are referenced a few times, and just seem to have different voices. given how subtle elcor speech and expression is to a non-elcor, i bet sex differences are very slight to the onlooker, or even primarily an olfactory thing.

as for hanar, i’d posit that they are hermaphroditic or asexual, like many earth jellyfish. their voices are simulated with tech, aren’t they? so the pitch of their voices don’t have to be indicative of sex.
